Vain by Fisher Amelie

Vain means excessively proud of or concerned about one's own appearance, qualities, and achievements. This book is based on appearances and wealth. It focuses on a rich girl's life named Sophie Price who depends only on her appearance. she got arrested twice already for the possession of drugs. during the second time she got arrested, she tried to con her way into letting the young and handsome cop let her go, however it did not happen because somethings are more important. her father and mother love each deeply, however they are distant with their daughter Sophie. They live in an enormous mansion where one part is for Sophie and the other is for her parents. They never cross paths but only for important business dinners Sophie's father needs Sophie to be present. In the meantime, Sophie gets everything she wants with the money she has and the looks she has. appearances count in that kind of world.

  1. from a scale of 1-10 how much do you think the book is? do you think that because she doesnt have a close bond with her parents she thinks that the only thing that matters is her appearance?

    1. I think this book is a 10 for me. It shows different emotions, emphasis on empathy. Later on in the book she will develop a change which turns her into a young beautiful caring woman.

  4. Wow, this book seems interesting. I feel as if, this girl is going to somehow go through some sort of life changing experience and will shape and mold her future. By reading this post, she sounds like a stuck up rich girl, who does what ever she wants and feels like she is entitled to everything, but at the same time i feel like she is messed up. Messed up, in the sense that money raised her and not her parents. I now wan't to know what will happen to her... keep writing more often.

  6. This book seems to be demonstrating society nowadays. It seems like because, she is pretty and wealthy, she thinks that she can live happily, however, money and beauty cannot buy one's happiness. Seems to me that this girl needs more attention, and people who care about her should guide her through the right path.
